Every serious photographer knows the feeling. You save for years — sometimes a lifetime — to own that one piece of glass. A super telephoto lens that costs lakhs. And the moment it's in your hands, a new worry takes over: what if something goes wrong?

A scratch. A drop. A moment of carelessness in the field. The glass elements of a super telephoto lens are irreplaceable in every sense of the word — financially and emotionally. That worry never quite leaves you.

That's exactly where Solyd Gear began.

Our First Product

The lens cap seems like a small thing. But for a photographer carrying a 400mm, 500mm, 600mm, or 800mm prime outdoors, it's the first and last line of defence for the most vulnerable part of their kit — the front element.

We looked at what was available. We weren't satisfied. So we built our own.

3D printing technology gave us the ability to move fast — to design, test, and refine a lens cap that was precision-engineered, lightweight, and built from high-grade ABS. The result was the Solyd Gear lens cap — our first product, and the beginning of something bigger.

As photographers ourselves, we understand the mental load that comes with expensive gear. Our mission is simple: peace of mind in the field.

We want every outdoor photographer — in any terrain, any condition, any corner of the world — to focus entirely on the moment, not on what might go wrong with their equipment.

We will not stop at one product. Technology like 3D printing allows us to solve real problems quickly and affordably, and our R&D team based out of India is constantly working towards that purpose.
